Concealing an inner shape
A volume to be born
A surface to caress
Curves that sweep
Discover its secret
Decode its unique message
Little by little reveal it and bring it forth,
Capture the shape that eludes us,
And, in a neverending quest,
Bring it to fruition
So that the wood sings
In my hands, sometimes rough, sometimes gentle,
The wood flows and reveals its sensitivity
Its movement and fluidity,
Then it is illuminated
And offers us its lines, its warmth, its light.
The studio is located in a tiny village
in the heart of the Judean desert,
a source of light and Biblical inspiration.
Cathy Kerner creates three dimensional works and wall art for communities,
synagogues, and private collectors ;
(with exhibits in Paris, Israel and in the USA).
